Separate your concerns
Dryness, uneven texture and facial volume changes are different concerns. Describe what you notice without assuming a single product or procedure should address them all. Ask which change can reasonably be improved and which expectations need adjusting.
Make sun protection part of the discussion
UK sun safety advice recommends sunscreen with at least SPF 30 and good UVA protection, alongside shade and suitable clothing. Sunscreen is not a reason to stay in the sun longer. Follow application and reapplication instructions and discuss protection after any skin procedure.
Review products before adding more
Bring a list or photographs of the products you use, particularly exfoliating acids and other active ingredients. Ask how a proposed addition fits with your current routine. If you are experiencing irritation, seek advice rather than layering on further products to correct it.
Be precise about treatment claims
Words such as rejuvenating or brightening can mean different things. Ask what visible change is expected, what evidence supports it and how long any benefit may last. A product name, an impressive ingredient list or another person’s photograph cannot establish your result.
Plan around your routine and budget
Ask which steps are essential to the proposed plan and which are optional. Consider the ongoing cost as well as the first purchase or appointment. A routine you understand is easier to follow than several overlapping products with unclear instructions.
Choosing whether to have a procedure
If you are considering a peel, microneedling or another cosmetic treatment, discuss suitability, recovery and aftercare before deciding. Tell the practitioner about sensitivity, previous reactions and upcoming events. You can take time to consider the options.
